Team LOGCAP Afghanistan

Provided IT leadership to 30+ theater level leads while contracting in an active war zone. Ensured continued systems up time by quickly identifying issues, assessing risk and compliance adherence before applying immediate resolutions that removed future recurrences. Key Achievements: Monitored Group Policy, Security Policy, and Active Directory for adverse effects to LOGCAPS use of networks computers & servers. Acted as the single point of IT support during Operations Enduring Freedom. Formed system procurement, storage, shipping, setup, and configuration. Maintained all desktops, laptops, servers, printers, and network; anything I.T. related was considered my purview. Managed between 5 and 8 separate networks for Team LOGCAP and our remote F.O.B's, while supporting additional partner groups co-located with us in Bagram. Re-configured servers, providing a more reliable backup for Team LOGCAP’s data. Built 2 server racks, for 5 physical servers, loading, and reloading them a total of no less than 13 times. Implemented a standard file server data structure across multiple networks that met military security standards. This allowed Team LOGCAP to re-align their data, (valued at 1.4 billion) and present a common data structure in use throughout theater, setting a working example that could be used Army wide. Wrote complex batch (.ps1) files: (1) automated backups on segmented systems. (2) Login Scripts automating basic troubleshooting, gathering data and logging end user computer use. (3) Rebooted end user computers twice a week and servers at least once a week. PowerShell scripting: to automate checking of computer reboot compliance. End users’ compliance nightly log off & back on next day. Implemented account procedures allowing new arrivals to log in within minutes of arrival, compared to days or weeks. Gave introduction classes to incoming groups, and personalized support to every individual as needed.
