Provided IT guidance and leadership to up to 250 personnel under the umbrella of Team LOGCAP while performing in an active war zone. Hit the ground running with team members being “I.T.-Starved”, acquiring escalated accounts within 30 days, and have not slowed down since. Key Achievements: Acted as CTR Supervisor and Theater Lead during a critical temporary short time in Nov ‘19. Acquired 6 CompTIA Certifications, extending my initial 1998 cert to the required DoD compliance out to 2023, a 25-year span of computer certifications and first-hand experience. Co-managed 8 separate networks, with 4 sub-networks contained therein, in an 8x15 server/comms room. Replaced all desktops, printers, VTC units, VoIP phones and 8 physical servers, upgrading 2 viable R710s, extending our unit’s capabilities outward to another 10 years. App $225k in computing equipment. Interviewed and selected an IT Professional for our KDHR/DWR/SHRB FOBs, meeting the contractual requirements for two IT people in theater. Re-instituted scheduled tasks, starting with daily health and status checks on our servers, and expanded that to include updated MS Databases, and daily backups via PowerShell Scripting. Operated with the bigger picture in mind: locating several theater wide issues and bringing these issues to the attention of the correct people to be corrected, from improper computer naming convention to mistyped area codes in use on the classified networks, correcting mislabeled domain names on servers, causing prolonged critical dis-connectivity. Ensured military guidance compliance, via file storage restrictions, automated weekly reboots for all computers, and other actions to abide by DoD network restrictions.
