Achieved E-5 in under 4 years, while earning dual CD-QAR, and aircraft turn up qualifications on turbo prop and jet engine aircraft. Key Achievements: Supervised up to 23-person crews performing scheduled and un-scheduled maintenance of all electronic/electrical systems on-board naval aircraft worldwide. Top Performer: 10-year record as Quality Assurance inspector working on A-3, P-3, A-6 and SH-60 airframes, covering the 4 major configurations of propulsion: Pylon & center line mounted jet engines, turbo prop engines, and helicopters. Attention to detail: Located error in the A-3 emergency procedures checklist that had been in print for over 25 years requiring an immediate worldwide notification to correct the error. Personally formulated corrective measure for procedure that received approval for this airframe. Supervisor for typical land and sea shifts including a new test weekend shift that was incorporated by the squadron and then base wide in Rota Spain, and again in Oceana, VA. Managed crews of aircraft maintenance personnel that routinely completed repairs and scheduled maintenance ahead of expectations. Received supervisory leadership recognition's: Sailor of the Month, Sailor of the Quarter and Senior Sailor of the Quarter. The Air-Det lead on duty when the ship’s Captain fell to a stroke & initiated a less than 10-minute launch, from bagged and stowed aircraft, to launching. Awarded Letter of Commendation from a 4-star Admiral, and recipient of the Navy Expeditionary Medal for diligent, steadfast dedication to a high work performance. My last day in the US Navy came "too quickly" on September 9th 1997, as an E-5.
